Noncontingent Reinforcement is an antecedent intervention-an intervention that you use prior to behavior occurring- that helps to decrease problem behaviors. Using noncontingent reinforcement (NCR) can decrease behaviors in the classroom because reinforcement is provided without a student having to do anything- no strings attached!
