From Prevention to Intervention: Parts I and II

July 28 @ 8:30 am - 3:30 pm
Free

This training is an introduction to Antecedent Based Interventions (ABIs).  ABIs are interventions that increase the likelihood of appropriate behaviors and/or decrease the likelihood of problem behaviors by changing events that occur before a behavior. Throughout this course, you will learn about several different ABIs including Visual Supports, Priming, Highly Preferred Materials, Offering Choices, Premack Principle, High Probability Requests and Noncontingent Reinforcement.  Participants will be introduced to each ABI and learn how to implement each one with fidelity.

Are you ready to elevate your behavior intervention skills? This engaging introductory training is designed to provide you with the tools and strategies necessary to support students who are “at risk” and require targeted interventions. You’ll explore the Student Intervention Matching (SIM) Form, a powerful tool that connects student behaviors with effective Tier II interventions.

Throughout this course, you’ll dive into a range of impactful interventions, including the School-Home Note, Check-In Check-Out, Class Pass, Positive Peer Reporting, Behavior Contracts, Self-Monitoring, and Small Group Social Emotional Learning.

By the end of the training, you’ll be equipped to complete and score the SIM Form, select the right interventions for each student’s unique needs, and implement each strategy with confidence and fidelity to foster meaningful, positive change.
