This professional learning opportunity brings teams together to collaborate\, share strategies\, and strengthen the behavioral support systems within their building’s \nThroughout the workday\, participants will work alongside other schools to explore and refine their own Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) for behavior. Teams will have the opportunity to: Learn from each other’s successes and challenges. Explore a variety of reward and discipline systems in use across schools. Identify strengths and gaps in their current practices. Develop and/or carry out action plans to enhance Tier 1\, Tier 2\, and Tier 3 behavioral supports. SUMMARY:Unraveling the Story of Behavior: A Journey Through Functional Behavior Assessment
DESCRIPTION:During this training\, participants will journey through the functional behavior assessment process utilizing the AR BSS “FBA Process Guide” to unravel the story behind the function of a student’s behavior. Key components of the FBA process include: determining the need for an FBA\, defining target behaviors\, and conducting indirect and direct assessments. This training addresses High Leverage Practice (HLP) 10: Conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments to Develop Individual Student Behavior Support Plans. In order for the training to be held\, there must be at least ten (10) participants registered. The Arkansas Behavior Specialists are committed to making our events accessible to everyone. DESCRIPTION:Are you ready to see positive behaviors in your classroom? This training is designed to empower classroom teachers to promote student engagement and appropriate behavior! Participants will learn key components for managing the classroom and the use of proactive strategies\, including classroom structure\, identifying and teaching behavior expectations\, developing and teaching routines and procedures\, and using reinforcement systems. What can teachers do when inappropriate behaviors occur despite having all the proactive strategies in place? This session walks participants through how to respond to these behaviors using informative and corrective consequences.
